Helical piles can carry retaining wall posts, and can underpin existing foundations that have settled, with minimal digging next to the building. These are always engineer-led, so talk to us early.
Why screw piles
- Helical piles carry retaining wall posts on soft or sloping ground.
- Underpinning goes in with minimal digging next to the building.
- Each pile's torque is logged, so the engineer can confirm the support.
- The compact rig works close to existing buildings and boundaries.
Good to know
Retaining and underpinning are always engineer-led: the engineer works out the loads and designs the piles, and taller retaining walls usually need a building consent. We'll work with your engineer, or put you in touch with one.
How it works
From enquiry to building on it.
-
1
Tell us about it
Call, email or send your estimate. Plans help, but a sketch with dimensions is fine to start.
-
2
Site check
We look at access, ground and underground services, and confirm the right pile for the job.
-
3
Engineering
For consented work, the engineer designs the layout and target torque and issues a PS1.
-
4
Install day
Set-out, then each pile screwed to target torque and cut to level, with depth and torque logged.
-
5
Handover
The torque record and PS3 go to you and the engineer, and your builder starts straight away.
